Robotics

In FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) Robotics, teams of 7th-12th graders are responsible for designing, building and programming robots to compete in an alliance format. Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. Awards are given for the competition as well as for community outreach, design and other real-world accomplishments. Evidence shows that students who participate on a FIRST robotics team better understand the use of science and technology in the real world; have an increased interested in STEAM and STEAM-related careers, an increased interest in going to college; and gains in a number of 21st Century life and workplace skills. The teams meet at least twice a week after school and on Saturdays. Each member has a key role such as designer, software programmer, engineer notebook, presentation presenters, game strategists and robot drivers.

Quest’s FTC teams have experienced great success and it is an increasingly popular after school activity. To learn more about FTC Robotics and how to get involved, please contact Quest Middle or High School.
